Living in Cedar Falls & The Cedar Valley

The topic of this course is Living in Cedar Falls & the Cedar Valley. It consists of a community resources orientation for new students or residents of the Cedar Falls area, and will provide local information such as engagement opportunities, transportation, history, and culture. Serving the Cedar Valley Community 

This course is offered to all UNI students and faculty and is designed to empower learners to get involved with community-based volunteer opportunities. Mainly, the course will focus on homeless shelters, food banks, and animal rescues. Learners will first understand the social and economic factors that contribute to homelessness and food insecurity, the impact of these factors on the community, and lastly how to get connected with volunteer opportunities in the Cedar Falls area.
